Rare California Fractional Gold Coins 罕見舊金山碎金幣

Finely striked, thin, rimmed, uncirculated proof, undated, no demonization, liberty head eagle fractional gold "coins". About 1.15gm each or 3 quarters worth of gold at that time. Front has 11 stars, and back 9 stars. Design clearly mimics contemporary official gold coins. These then so called California "pocket pieces", or tokens or charms, were made after 1859 by jewelers or private mints, but most early issues have date and denomination. These two pieces mostly were made around 1883 though, when officials cracked down hard on counterfeits.
