女皇城 Queen’s Town

英國殖民政府最早著重開發東起銅鑼灣、西至西營盤、並以現在中環為中心的 Queen’s Town（女皇城），1842年3月31日刊憲改為 Victoria（域多利），為英帝國在中國第一塊殖民地的首都。英殖民者自稱：更改名稱的目的是向華人實質宣示主權，打倒迷信、自傲和偏見的偉大勝利，改變無知之世界。Name of our Town: capital of first British settlement in China “Queen’s Town” to Victoria. 另註: Queen在香港被翻譯為「皇后」，是錯誤的。
